Set up and send payment via Venmo
- Download and install the Venmo app on your mobile device (available for iOS and Android).
- Create an account by providing your name, email address, and phone number. You will also need to create a password.
- Link your Venmo account to your bank account or credit card. To do this, go to the “Settings” menu and select “Payment Methods.” Follow the prompts to add your bank account or credit card information.
- Once your account is set up and linked to your payment method, you can start sending payments to other Venmo users. To do this, go to the Venmo home screen and tap the “Pay or Request” button.
- Enter the username, email address, or phone number of the person you want to pay, along with the amount you want to send.
- Add a note to your payment (optional), such as a description of what the payment is for.
- Review the payment details and tap the “Pay” button to send the money.
Set up and send payment via Zelle
- Check if your bank or credit union offers Zelle. Most major banks in the United States offer Zelle, but some smaller banks and credit unions may not. If your bank offers Zelle, you can enroll directly through their mobile app or website.
- Enroll in Zelle by following the prompts in your bank’s mobile app or website. You will need to provide your name, email address, and phone number.
- Once enrolled, you can start sending money to other Zelle users. To do this, log in to your bank’s mobile app or website and go to the “Send Money with Zelle” section.
- Enter the email address or phone number of the person you want to pay, along with the amount you want to send.
- If the recipient is not already enrolled in Zelle, they will receive an invitation to enroll and claim the payment.
- Add a note to your payment (optional), such as a description of what the payment is for.
- Review the payment details and confirm the payment.
